After School Homework Help/Tutoring: We provide this service each Wednesday from 3:45 to 4:45.
Backpack Food Program: We continue to participate in the program. Each Friday, a small bag of nonperishable food is left in participating students' lockers to take home. Qualifying families must meet income guidelines. Contact your child's counselor for more information.
Clean Care Program: Starting in September, each month we will send home personal hygiene kits with children who are in need. The kit will include a new toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, and body wash. There will be a kit specifically for boys and for girls. Contact your child's counselor for more information.
Anger Management Group led by a licensed social worker from South Community Behavioral Health Care. Group meets one day each week at school during the school day for 10-12 weeks. Contact your child's school counselor or Principal for further information.
Sinclair's Young Scholars Program: This pre-college program is designed to recruit 7th/8th grade students in Montgomery County who, if willing to make a 5 year commitment (8th - 12th grade) to attend 12 Saturday workshops each year, have and maintain a 2.0 or better GPA, be a first-generation college student and have parent/guardian permission, you could receive a financial aid package to Sinclair Community College covering tuition, books, and fees for 3 consecutive years. If interested, you may pick up an application in the counselor's office.
Summer Programs: Miami University has reading skills and speed reading programs for children and adults. All programs meet once each week for 5 weeks. The program for 6th-8th graders works on comprehension and reading speed. They also teach the best way to read textbooks, take notes, and study for tests.
